Protection and Counseling
In the shelter, young women live in a community. Each woman receives her own room. Sometimes a room is shared with another young woman.
Our services include:
- Regular counseling
- Group activities
- More intensive support and regular contact with social workers
- Support in everyday life
- Education about digital safety
- Accompaniment to important appointments (for example, child and youth services, police, court, AMS, …)
We are here for you
We counsel and support young women individually according to their situation. We provide local protection and give young women the opportunity to speak about their experiences in peace. Topics include, for example:
- Online safety
- Developing perspectives
- Search for training or employment
- Problems at school
- Parenting counseling
- Search for new accommodation
- Strengthening self-worth
- Setting internal and external boundaries
- Contact with family and friends
- Understanding your rights
Who can come?
Women aged 16 and older who are affected by domestic violence can come to the shelter for young women. Domestic violence means that the violence comes from a family member. This is not always the partner, but can also be:
- Parents
- Siblings
- Cousins
