Our services

We support you in finding a way out of violence.

If your home is not safe, you and your children can stay in a women’s shelter for a period of time. Here you will find protection and receive counseling about your options.
If you do not live in a women’s shelter but would still like counseling, you can come to our counseling center. Together we will look for a solution.

We employ social workers who are specially trained.

It is important that we provide you with individual counseling. Together we will look for solutions that are feasible for you and offer you safety and independence. You determine what your goals are.

We support you, for example, with:

  • We help you deal with crises.
  • We plan your safety and that of your children together.
  • We listen to you and plan goals together.
  • We support and accompany you to authorities (police, court, custody, …).
  • We support you in contact with other support services.
  • We support you in the search for housing.
  • We support you with financial matters.
  • Together we will find a way out of violence.

Women’s Shelters & Transitional Housing

5 Women’s Shelters

There are a total of 5 women’s shelters in Vienna. Here women and their children live for a period of time in a protected place. Women can come to us from the age of 16.

Admission to a Women’s Shelter

Admission to a women’s shelter is arranged through the central emergency number 05 77 22 and is available around the clock.
When women arrive at the women’s shelter, they can first find peace. Each woman receives her own room together with her children.

Counseling

In the following period, women can talk to their counselor about their situation. Together they work on a solution to find a way to an independent life.

If you have to leave your home, call our emergency hotline: 05 77 22. Places are allocated via the emergency hotline.

In the women’s shelter, women live with their children in their own rooms. You can find out more here about what daily life looks like and what support services are offered.

Children living with their mothers in the women’s shelter receive care and support from our Children’s Department.

In our transitional apartments, women can live for a period of time after staying at the women’s shelter. Counseling is also offered here.

The women’s shelter for young women accommodates women aged 16 to 25. The support provided is tailored to the needs of young women.

Counseling Centers

We operate 2 outpatient counseling centers in Vienna. Our counseling center for women supports women who do not live in a women’s shelter.

In our counseling center “Perspective:Work” we support women from the age of 16 in entering the workforce.

All counseling sessions are free of charge and confidential. If your first language is not German, counseling sessions are conducted with interpreters.
