Support for children and young people

Children and young people always witness the violence against their mother, even when they are not directly affected themselves. This is called witnessed violence and has severe impacts on children and young people. Therefore, it is important to recognize them as affected individuals in their own right.
The women’s shelter has a children’s area. The children’s area specifically addresses the concerns of children and young people.

Children living with their mothers in the women’s shelter receive care and support from our Children’s Department.

Children and young people also receive support on various topics outside the women’s shelter. All services are free and confidential.
